Question about sinkholes

Postby nashscan » Feb 12, 2014 8:45 pm

The new sinkhole in the Corvette museum has me thinking. Do sinkholes that appear in the ground ever have passageways leading off them at the bottom??

You can see what looks like a cave system in the bottom of the sinkhole.

I saw that YouTube clip. It looks very interesting, and I would love to explore it!

Bowling Green has cave passage all under it. It's interesting that I-65 is directly alongside of the Museum. Wouldn't you think the highway engineers would have known about a cave system under it? It is hard to believe a surveyed cave runs under it, but it certainly appears to be a big cave from the videos.

I really hope they investigate the bottom of the sinkhole where it appears to go further and report on their findings. May need to dig some.

Take my word for it; digging at the bottom of a huge breakdown pile, especially one so fresh as that, can be extremely dangerous.
