Odd Salamander

Several friends and I was in Bluff River Cave 2 mondays ago. On the way in we seen several small salamanders, and over 30 Crayfish some of them reaching 4 or 5 inches in length. Only one of them appeared translucent.

Somewhere between the halfway point of the cave and the back of the cave (according to the map) we seen a weird looking salamander. It was in the water and stayed in there the 2 minutes we were looking at it. It was about 8 to 9 inches long, about the thickness of an adult big toe, at least 2 legs in the back...I do not recall seeing 2 in the front. It was pinkish in color. Anyone have any clue what we were looking at?

Tennessee Cave Salamander. Almost always seen in its aquatic form.
