Postby Herman Miller » Mar 30, 2006 1:02 am

hey all, like the title of the post says I'm moving to Clovis, NM in the coming months and was wondering if anyone from the board resides near there and could "break" me into the local caving circle, i was also curious on every ones take on the grottoes in eastern new mexico, on this topic feel free to pm me, thanks.... oh yeah preferred to give yeall a chance adding a caving extraordinaire to your group prior to pulling names from the members manual

well for a state home to two giant cave systems and a mountain range resembling swiss cheese, there doesn't appear to be much for active new mexico based cavers

Looks like the Hondo Grotto out of Roswell is the closest one to you. But then you're not going to be far (compared to driving from Colorado) from a bunch of cavers in the guads. I see 2 1/2 pages of New Mexico cavers listed in the directory.

New Mexico has a well-established e-mail list for communication among cavers who live in the state and for those who are interested in caving in the "Land of Enchantment." I recommend you visit the Southwestern Region website and join their mailing list. In doing so, you can send an e-mail inquiry directly to the cavers of the state.
