Questions on AL1300 Long Island Saltpeter Cave.

Postby jimboyatl » May 17, 2011 4:22 pm

Recently I was on a trip to AL1300 Long Island Saltpeter Cave.. I am curious if there is a more recent survey than the 1973 Bill Torode map.
Our group was speculating on the existence of another entrance/exit to the cave that might have collapsed, filled in or otherwise be undiscovered.
Given the Union Officer signatures and size of the known entrance (small) and probably made difficult the rumored saltpeter mining in the 1860's we were wondering if there was another known or suspected entrance and a later survey than 1973.

Any Thoughts?
