rockhouse caves in north alabama

Postby grigsby35671 » Mar 6, 2006 3:10 pm

Hi everone im new to the forum and new to caving. I live around north alabama close to Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. Recently me and a few frineds of mine have started to check out these rockhouse caves that are on the Wheeler Refuge. Ive been in them 4 or 5 times but i havent really been that far back into some of the caves. I would like to know more about these caves and others in the north bama area. If anyone heres knows anything about rockhouse then the info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Grigsby

Welcome Grigsby;

I've been there a couple of times, and while they are fairly nice caves, they aren't the best the area has to offer.
To learn more caves and about caving and to meet other cavers, try and make the next meeting of the Huntsville Grotto. It's on April 5th @ 7PM at the Huntsville Public Library. We have a short business meeting, then some gear show and tell and then usually a program.

Check out our website and PM me for any particulars.
